Dominique Dibbell cut her teeth in New York’s East Village performance art scene in the late 1980’s, performing at venues such as P.S. 122, Dixon Place, and the Pyramid Club.
At the WOW Café, she cofounded the groundbreaking theater group the Five Lesbian Brothers with Lisa Kron, Peg Healey, Babs Davy, and Moe Angelos. The Brothers won an Obie award for their play The Secretaries. She won her second Obie award for playing a 14-year-old boy in the Builders Association’s Jet Lag.
She collaborated with director Ira Sachs on Lady, a short film based on her performance work.
In Los Angeles, she worked with filmmakers Todd Hughes and P. David Ebersole on two short films, Hubby/Wifey and Swimming.
After a tour of duty in the corporate world, she returned to acting and writing.
She’s a regular contributor to the comedy podcast the Final Edition and has narrated corporate and marketing videos.
She is currently at work on her first novel.
